Jeffs Gone M A D

Fairbury Jr./Sr. high school and Jefferson students got to participate in wellness activities the week of October 3-7.   An introductory convocation was presented by Jeffs Gone MAD and Sean Robers, Mental Health Clinician.
FPS students loved ‘Take 5’ Tuesday🖐🏻and were reminded that sometimes it is beneficial to take break and recoup! Grades 3-12 were provided positive affirmation coloring pages and coloring utensils! Jeffs Gone M.A.D. volunteers made videos for Jefferson students to watch each day this week. They explained the WHY behind what we were doing!
Thursday at the high school was ‘Take What You Need.’ They had a lot of prizes for students to take. Students could rip off a word that encouraged them or that they might need💓
During Thoughtful Thursday for Jefferson students! Students got to use sidewalk chalk to write their favorite positive messages. Teachers had their favorite on their marker board! 📝☀️
Their culminating event will take place at this Friday night’s football game vs. St. Paul. The theme for Friday night’s football game is “lime green” for Mental Health Awareness Week and to honor Landon Livingston. Football players will also be wearing pink socks for Hillary Christ and breast cancer awareness month.

Health Screenings Taking Place Soon!

The district’s School Health Services program supports your student’s academic success by promoting health in the school setting. One way that we provide care for your student is by performing the health screenings as mandated by the state of Nebraska.
Our annual health screenings for grades 1,2,3,4,7,and 10 will take place on October 4 and 5, 2022. They will include a height, weight, hearing, vision, and dental check.  Please make sure to send your child’s eye glasses to school on these days. The SCC nursing students will assist in the completion of the screenings. A copy of results will be sent home.
If you have any questions, please contact Danielle Schelbitzk, District Nurse.
