Energizers Sponsor Under the Sea Adventure
FHS Energizers sponsored a local mentoring activity with Jefferson students on January 10th. Owner of the local paint studio, The Creative Cup, Miranda Pratt joined 30 students for an under-the-sea paint class. Select students from grades 3-11 spent the afternoon with “Miss Randy” learning paint techniques and enjoying snacks. The final results were impressive! Everyone had a great time enjoying this creative adventure.

Jay Martin, School Safety & Security Director to Visit FPS
Fairbury Public Schools is pleased to announce that Jay Martin, School Safety & Security Director with the Nebraska Department of Education, will be visiting Fairbury Public Schools on Wednesday, January 31st.
Jay will be leading a 5th & 6th Grade Convo and a 7th-12th Grade Convo on how digital platforms are influencing youth. In addition, Jay will be leading a Parent Academy from 6:00-7:15 in the BFAC at Fairbury Jr-Sr High School . Here is a description of the Parent Academy:
“What do adults need to be aware of when devices are a big part of children’s lives? The core of many of the issues seen in schools originate from digital platforms, Apps, and media. Exposure to digital nuances imipact all of us on a behavioral, mental, and emotional level. Developing our digital wisdom will make us more mindful of the best practices to assist students with better digital: citizenship, literacy, privacy, and navigation within the virtual world to be a safer and more secure in the real world. Digital parent academies give adults the tools to build a child’s digital wisdom framework for safer platform participation.”
Fairbury Public Schools encourages parents to attend the Parent Academy on January 31st from 6:00-7:15 at the BFAC. Drop-in daycare will be available as well as pizza for those that attend!
