Energizers Lead Dynamic Vaping Presentation

Several students from the high school Energizers group did a smoking vaping prevention presentation for the 4th grade classes. The students explained the dangers of smoking and vaping, showed the students pig lungs that had been damaged by smoking, and had the students do a breathing activity that showed how smoking can limit the amount of oxygen that enters your lungs. Huge shout out to Mrs. Engle-Evans, Dr. Winter and the rest of the Energizers for all you do for our school!

Donkey Basketball at FPS

Sponsored by the school’s FFA and FBLA, Donkey basketball was a hit for the community of Fairbury.  The stands were full and fun was had by all.  Ticket sale proceeds will benefit the students throughout the year.

Although some Jeffs might be amateurs, the donkeys are pros.  This is a special set of donkeys, so they’re trained for this.  To help keep the hardwood from being scratched and marred, the donkeys have little shoes on the bottom of their hooves, so it’s protected.

What if the donkey had to go to the bathroom?  Volunteers just scooped it up.

It wasn’t just a fundraiser, it was a fun event for the kids, and as you can see, it was a fun event for the whole community.

10/11 Weatherman Visits Central Elementary

Bill Rentschler ventured down to Jefferson County today to visit Central Elementary School with Fairbury Public Schools and talk to some amazing kindergartners, 1st graders, and 2nd graders! They talked about severe weather and severe weather safety as we venture further into the severe weather season.
Thanks to Mrs. Rosener for inviting them and to Mr. Haag, the principal, for treating them so well while they were down here!
