Jefferson Intermediate HAL Presentations

Jefferson Intermediate students in the HAL Program (students in 2nd-6th) finished off the year with break-out Escape Rooms they created for their parents.  They had to use clues, created by the students, to break out of their designated rooms. This was just one of the many creative activities that were  completed.

Throughout the year, Mrs. Bowen worked in collaboration with district staff to enhance learning opportunities that include building bird houses, learning about the Arts, utilizing critical thinking skills through project based learning, and many other projects. Mrs. Bowen would like to give a shout out to Thomas Dux, Tori Holly, Connie Schouboe, the members of the FFA Club, David Grein, and Shannon Honold for the ongoing support given throughout the year. Next year’s focus will be to continue to build higher level thinking and collaboration skills in the areas of Financial Literacy, Woodworking, Music/Arts, and Project Based Learning.

2024 B-3 District Track & Field Championships

Norris High School is honored to host  the B-3 District Track & Field Championships next Tuesday.
Two Items of Interest:
1.)  You may purchase tickets in advance:  GoFan Ticket Option.  You may also pay cash or scan a QR code on-site to purchase online.
2.)  One item of note that you may or may not have experienced is the following protocol. Our staff will strictly enforce this so please proactively communicate to your stakeholders.

Competition Areas To Gain Access to Competition Areas, an athlete must be in uniform or a Coach with a Wrist Band. Schools will be provided 10 Bands for the coaching staff. Do Not Ask for Additional Bands.

The Competition Areas will be clearly marked including the entire area behind the press box and main grandstands which includes the Long Jump, Triple Jump, and Pole Vault Areas. This also includes the Track and Football Field.

We will have staff present to enforce this expectation.

District Baseball

“Due to the amount of rain, District Baseball is being moved to Ralston High School. Fairbury will play Platteview this evening at 4:30 PM.

The field is on Ralston High School’s campus, on the back side near 90th street. Ralston’s field is turf, so there are some restrictions for fans. No sunflower seeds or gum are allowed. There are no concessions, but outside food/drink is allowed.”

May Design Contest Winner

Fairbury Jr. Sr. High School  had its Chromebook Background Design Contest for May.  It was narrowed  down to the top 10 designs. This is the design that won by an overall staff vote. Voting was completely anonymous, staff could only see the design but not who created it.
Thank you to ALL who have participated in our background contest this year. We appreciate you!

Congratulations to Brook Tatro,  12th Grader, for being selected as the background winner for May!  Great work Brook!!
