3rd Graders Study Forces
Today in science, the third graders continued their unit on forces. The kids had to balance card stock robots on different tools such as pencils, paper clips, and tongue depressors.
Fairbury Education Association Light the Way Campaign
For many years, the Fairbury Education Association (FEA) has donated time and money to help families within our community during the holiday season with their Light the Way campaign. Previous beneficiaries have included families who have experienced a fire, a death in the family, an accident, or have major medical concerns, or just struggling financially. The FEA members feel this is a way to give back to our community and students. We are asking for your support. This year, after receiving input from several different sources, the committee has selected Kovannia and Ken Johnson and their 5 kids. The Johnson family has a preschool student at Central with ongoing health needs that put extra demands on the family. The family has one vehicle that is currently not running, and money collected in their name will go directly to a local mechanic shop towards getting that vehicle up and going. The family was very excited and grateful for being selected. In addition to receiving the Light the Way money this year, the district is providing a family sports and activities pass for their family so that they are able to attend school events (their 7th grader is wrestling).
Any monetary donation you provide to this family will make a difference in their lives. If you would like to support this cause, please make checks out to FEA (Fairbury Education Association). You may also make a cash donation.
Light the Way night is Friday December 8th at the high school basketball game. The walkway down to the high school will be lit, and FEA will be doing concessions.
The Light the Way Committee appreciates your help in making a difference in the lives of these students.
