If you have a preschool age child, please fill out the online application for the Step Ahead Early Childhood Program at Central Elementary. This year, applications will be reviewed using a point system. You will be notified at a later date for acceptance into preschool.
Fairbury Public Schools Presents: Wizard of OZ
The Fairbury Fine Arts Department is bringing a classic musical to Fairbury High School this spring. Fairbury students will be performing the musical rendition of one of the first color films, The Wizard Of Oz. Based on the 1939 film, Dorothy (Cambria Myers) must find her way to Emerald City with her dog Toto (Eloise Dusso) and her new friends Scarecrow (Regan Kapke), Tinman (Daniel Creekbaum) and Lion (Liam Young). They seek the help of the Wizard of Oz (Jace Dorn). Glinda, the Good Witch of the North (Izzy Ausk), helps them evade the Wicked Witch of the West (Lilly Ausk) aided by faithful monkey, Nikko (Gabe Ausk).
This rendition of The Wizard Of Oz follows closely to the story written by Frank L. Baum in 1900. With music and lyrics of the MGM motion picture score by Harold Arlen and E. Y. Harburg, this musical has all of the classic songs you know and love like Over the Rainbow, We’re Off to See the Wizard, and The Merry Old Land of Oz.
You won’t want to miss the Fairbury Fine Arts Department’s version of this great classic. Performances are scheduled for Friday, March 15th at 7:00 p.m., Saturday, March 16th at 7:00 p.m., and Sunday, March 17th at 2:00 p.m. Tickets go on sale March 4th.

Holiday Express Bus provides school bus route and activity transportation for Fairbury Public Schools. Driving positions require a Class B CDL with Passenger and School Bus Endorsements. Our team is more than happy to help you acquire your CDL. We provide excellent paid-training to ensure safely transporting children and young adults. You will have holidays and summers off to enjoy with your friends and family. You are more than a bus driver —you are the bright and happy smile in a child’s life.
