BNFF girls and BNFF boys beat both Brownell Talbot/Creighton/Mercy/Roncolli and Skutt
Catholic/Mount Michael.
It has been a long while since the boys beat Skutt/Mt. Michael. So it was exciting to see both girls and boys come away with the win.
We didn’t see the times that we would like to see. The Brownell-Talbot pool is not a favorite to swim in. You hear swimmers say they may feel slow or fast in a particular pool. Those that swim will understand. Both Brownell and Skutt have good swimmers to help push our swimmers. Regardless of the feel of the pool, we still came away with some person best times and couple new secondary state qualifying times.
We had 2 new secondary state qualifying times achieved by Freshman Reid Novotny in the 200 freestyle and 100 butterfly.
BNFF had 9 First place finishes: Girls 200 Medley Relay of Jaedyn Baxa, Izzy Scheele, Avery Baumann and Alyse Bassett; Dru Breeden in the 200 Individual Medley; Avery Baumann in 100 freestyle; Girls 200 Freestyle Relay of Avery Baumann, Izzy Scheele, Tabitha Crawford and Jaedyn Baxa; Boys 200 Freestyle relay of Dru Breeden, Noah Jacobsen, Sean Carrera and Reid Novotny; Izzy Scheele in 100 backstroke; Addisyn Baxa in the 100 breastroke; Girls 400 Freestyle Relay of Avery Baummann, Alyse Bassett, Tabitha Crawford and Sophia Meints; And the Boys 400 Freestyle relay of Sean Carrerra, James Given, Noah Jacobsen and Reid Novotny.
And 11 Second place finishes: Sophia Meints in 200 freestyle and 100 Breastroke; Reid Novotny in the 200 freestyle and 100 butterfly; Tabitha Crawford in the 50 freestyle; Brooke Given in 100 butterfly; Sean Carrera in the 100 freestyle; Petra Van Cleave in the 500 freestyle; James Given in the 500 freestyle; Dru Breeden in the 100 backstroke, Isaac Barber in 100 Breastroke

Next action for the team is qualifying time meet at Lincoln Southeast High School. We have 16 swimmers who qualified and one diver for the knights Invite. This meet is one our swimmers look forward to as we compete against some of the top swimmers in the state. Diving will take place on Friday, December 20 and the swim portion on Saturday, December 21. The swimmers have some high goals for this meet.
