The Beatrice, Norris and Fairbury swimming and diving team finished their last meet of the regular season with the Greater Nebraska Championship at Hastings. This was our third year competing at this meet.
For the third year, BNF Girls came out as Greater Nebraska Champions. BNF boys finished in 5th place. Our swimmers and divers came to compete, make some points for the team and achieve their goals of personal best times, new state cuts and records broken. We are always telling our team that every swim and finish contributes to our point total, even if you don’t finish in the top 6.
Coming into this meet I was a bit concerned on how everyone will swim. We have had many out sick this week. But they did not let that stop them. They left it all in the water. We are very proud of this team and how they performed.
This was the last regular high school meet for one of our seniors, Ava Bolli from Beatrice High School. Ava is always willing to help coaches when needed. She was a good squad and lane leader. You would find her cheering on her teammates at every meet. Four seniors and thirteen underclassmen will continue practicing for the state swimming and diving meet that is held the end of this month.
