27 students from grades 3-6 participated in the first Jefferson School Book Club where they read the book Raymie Nightingale by Kate DiCamillo. Along with reading the book, the students got to create items discussed in the book including a baton and a lantern. Thanks to Randi Zimmerman for teaching the students about the baton and sharing her talent!
Mrs. Shinn is starting another afterschool book club. The after school Book Club at will be held in her classroom at Jefferson Elementary School. The purpose of the book club is to: share a love of reading, engage students in different styles of reading, enhance critical thinking skills, and to promote literacy through new approaches.
