Not Over ‘Til It’s Over

Fairbury Journal News Fairbury, Nebraska (September 16, 2017) Score for score, the Bulldogs and Jeffs went back and forth for three quarters of gridiron action Friday night. Tied 20-20 going into to fourth quarter, the Jeffs kept rowing, and the momentum started going the way of the Jeffs. Interception, after big play, over and over again, led the Jeffs to scoring 18 points in the final period to seal a 38-20 homecoming victory over the Auburn Bulldogs.
Jacob Johnson ran for 177yds and 2TDs, while Wasserman ran for 2TDs as well. Cayman DeBoer caught #3’s only TD pass on the night.
Zach Holes led the defense with (9) tackles, followed by Johnson and Seth Firmanik each recording (7) tackles. The D picked off four Bulldog passes; Johnson, Cayman DeBoer, Wasserman and Ace York each had an INT in the contest.
Along with Wasserman’s rushing and passing TDs, he ran a Punt Return back 92yds for a score.
