Fairbury is currently seeking a High School Business teacher for the 2019-2020 school year. Fairbury has a strong FBLA and serves its students by offering pathways in Entrepreneurship, Accounting, Management, Data Science, and Video Production. This position would be responsible for our Personal Finance, School to Career, Video Production/Digital Media, Management & Leadership, and one period of JH Computer Applications.  A BMIT endorsement is preferred.

Family and Consumer Sciences Teacher

Fairbury Junior/Senior High School is currently seeking a Family and Consumer Science teacher for the 2019-2020 school year. Currently, Fairbury’s FCCLA program has 35+ active members and continues to grow. Our FCS room has 15 sewing machines and 5 fully functioning kitchens. We have 2 pathways in FCS (Culinary and Early Childhood Education), and we also teach Family Living, Housing, and an 8th grade Introduction to FCS.

Intervention Coordinator

Fairbury Public Schools is seeking an enthusiastic and coachable person, who, after training, would be person would be responsible for academic assessments, assist with coordinating  and scheduling interventions for students, provide academic and behavioral interventions, and data entry.  This person must be organized, positive, coachable, willing to take feedback and have effective communication skills.  Other duties as assigned.  A bachelors degree in education or psychology is preferred.  Any candidate must have a bachelors degree.  Supervised by Special Education Director/School Psychologist.

Route Driver and Para

Fairbury Public Schools is hiring a safe, reliable driver and para who is able to drive a student to and from Lincoln each daily as well as work as a para during the mid-day hours.  The hours for this position are 7:30-4:00

Sign Language Interpreter

Fairbury Public Schools is accepting applications for an educational sign language interpreter.  The educational sign language interpreter would be responsible for effectively facilitating communication and education access for students who are Deaf or hard of hearing.  Their primary role of the educational sign language interpreter is to represent instruction, interactions, and auditory information in the language modality used by the child in order to allow for full participation in the educational experience.

This position is a full time position.

Successful applicants must meet the requirements of 92 NAC 51 (Nebraska Special Education Rule 51).

The Fairbury Public School District offers a competitive substitute salary and high quality teaching and learning environments in our four school sites – Fairbury Jr/Sr High, Jefferson Intermediate, Central Elementary and CHANCE Alternative schools.

Note that individuals with four-year degrees, as well as those with a minimum of 60 college credit hours, may be eligible to apply for a “Local Substitute Teaching Certificate“. This provision allows qualified applicants the opportunity to substitute teach in one designated school district.
