Sharing the Love of Reading

Ms. Davidson’s Language Arts 12 students have been busy the past several weeks studying Children’s Literature authors.  Tuesday presented an opportunity to visit Ms. Schroeder’s 2nd grade class at Central Elementary and Mrs. Kriesel’s 3/4 class at Jefferson Intermediate to share their findings!

Seniors were assigned a three-part project: write a persuasive research paper, create an engaging online book geared toward 2nd-4th graders, and present an informative final product to class peers.  Author selections included Ian Falconer (Olivia), Shel Silverstein (Where the Sidewalk Ends), Eric Carle (The Hungry Caterpillar), Laura Numeroff (If You Give a Mouse a Cookie), David Shannon (No, David!), Roald Dahl (The BFG), Maurice Sendak (Where the Wild Things Are), Dr. Seuss (The Cat in the Hat), HA Rey (Curious George), and Margaret Wise Brown (Goodnight Moon).
